In 2011, the U.S. Postal Service will issue a new stamp intended for use by nonprofit organizations that features an art-deco style bird in flight with an envelope in its beak. The bird in the stamp art, which was created by Nancy Stahl of New York, N.Y., appears as one of the decorative elements in the façade that rises two stories above the main doors of the Oak Park, Illinois, Post Office.

Stahl’s previously issued stamps include New York Public Library Lion (2000), Holiday Knits (2007), and others featuring the same blue-tinted style: Snowy Egret (2003), Bighorn Sheep and Florida Panther (2007), Dragonfly (2008), and Dolphin (2009).
